RHUNE (LARRUN in Basque pasture place) 905 m high.
One of the most westerly summits of the Pyrenees that is shared by
France and Spain. Towers above the village of Sare
to the east, Ascain
to the north, and the Atlantic coast to the west. One of the most
beautiful panoramas in the BC, which can be reached in many ways :
on foot by various routes, by the « little train » (a very picturesque cog railway dating back to 1924, which leaves from the Col or pass of Saint-Ignace, between Sare and Ascain), and even by car on the southem face.
