of the Romanesque churches in the "northern" Basque Count. are to
be found in the Soule... ». Besides the one at l'Hopital-St-Blaise,
the most remarkable church is at Ste-Engrâce
: It dates from the 2nd half of the 12th cent. and contains many features
of Romanesque art, including 20 carved stone capitals depicting scenes
from the Bible. Other Romanesque features are to be found in the churches
at : Alos (apse), Camou, Alcay (chancel), Alçabehety (tympanum), Sunhar
and Laguinge (nave, apse...), Haux (portal, archivolt),
